At Amber Museum you can study a great number of amber rare finds up close. The museum is in Nyhavn, Copenhagen, in a house built in 1606 and one of the oldest of Copenhagen today. The collection is one of the most extensive in the world, it contains a wide array of entombed insects from prehistoric times and includes the worlds largest piece of baltic amber. Whereas a normal chunk of amber weighs less than ten grams, this impressive piece weighs in at 8.8kg and was found off the coast of Sweden in 1969. 1 May - 18 Sep : 10 - 18:30 1 Oct - 30 Apr : 10 - 17:30 Admission Adults: DKK 25 Children (up to 12 years): 10 DKK |
